The Outsiders: We read chapter 9 and you had time to write your journal responses.

Dynamic/Static Characters: We discussed what these types of characters look like. We looked at two examples from Finding Nemo and discussed Ponyboy together as a class.


Journal Responses 7-9: You were given time to edit and submit your journal responses for chapters 7-9. These will be DUE FRIDAY.

Media Schmedia: You were to choose a news article  from the link on the blog and analyse it according to the worksheet questions. This will be Due FRIDAY.

The Outsiders: We read the rest of chapter two together. You were introduced to your journal assignment and you had some time to complete the journal responses for chapter 1.

We discussed the Setting and looked at the time period of the 1960's.

We discussed the differences between the Socs and Greasers in the text.

Gender & Identity in Magazines: You were given an assignment to find 2 magazine advertisements and respond to them in terms of our identity discussion from last day. This is Due: FRIDAY.

Collage Assignment: You were given an assignment to create a collage of images representing two different groups. Cut out pictures, words and phrases that you feel would represent gangs in the 1960's and 2014. Create a collage that is split down the middle with the Greasers on one side and the Socs on the other. This is Due: Monday.

Tall Tale: We watched part of the Tall Tale movie as a Friday wrap-up to our unit.
